Produce: A selction of unique artisan vinegars, oils and herbs and spices, from around the world.

A successful food and travel writer, magazine editor and excellent cook, Andy has now turned his attentions to the art of vinegar making and supplying organic, small-batch vinegars, oils and hand-picked herbs and spices, from around the world....

You can drizzle it over your favourite salad, pan fry it with fish or chicken, dunk your best sourdough bread in it or use it to flavour your favourite stews, Bolognaise and other sauces. In fact, take a look in your fridge or pantry and you will be hard pressed to find a product that has as much versatility as vinegar as a cooking ingredient.

Andy Harris of Vinegar Shed, has devoted himself to the art of vinegar making and supplying unique organic, artisan vinegars, oils and herbs and spices, from around the world.

Andy regularly travels around Europe and further afield to find passionate artisans making special small-batch products, all guaranteed to add some amazing flavour and excitement to your everyday cooking.

All are exclusive to Vinegar Shed, including fabulous Banyuls wine vinegars (including a sensational saffron blend and Vermeil vinegar spiced with cloves and cinnamon) from the rocky Cote Vermeille coast in the South of France, Normandy cider vinegar, stunning herb and fruit flavoured vinegars made by Cistercian nuns in the Languedoc and wonderfully fragrant hand-picked Greek island herbs.

There's also a selection of unique spices, unusual spice blends and rare peppercorns from around the globe and all are of such great quality that you only need to use a little to take your cooking to new heights!

So how did it all begin? Andy Harris started making vinegar about 20 years ago when he bought his first vinegar crock in a French flea market and has been obsessed with making the stuff ever since.

As a well-known food and travel writer, magazine editor and excellent cook, Andy has tasted many of the world’s most interesting vinegars on his culinary travels over the years. Visiting the best balsamic producers in Modena, the finest sherry vinegar makers of Spain and France’s regional artisan wine and cider vinegar producers on his culinary tours. He has a notable collection of bought vinegars in his larder and still loves buying them from every country he visits.

But it wasn’t until he started making his own that he realised the full potential and joys of homemade vinegar. He has about twelve of his own crocks now, in the kitchen and the garden shed, constantly producing delicious, and different, red, white and cider vinegars, single and varietal wine vinegars.

Whilst Andy is a seasoned cook and has been dabbling in the art of creating and curating wonderful vinegars for many years, Vinegar Shed is a new venture established at the end of 2016.

However, despite such a recent launch many of Andy’s exciting products are already being used by top chefs like Jamie Oliver, Mitch Tonks, Nathan Outlaw, Jeremy Lee and Pascal Aussignac.

His vinegars and other products have also made waves at the Great Taste 2017 Awards winning 14 awards.
