Franklins are great all round producers of home grown, free range meats. They believe in providing the highest welfare for all their animals and ensure that everything is fully traceable. We highly recommend you trying their famous 3 Bird Roast - it's simply delicious!

The business was born from the ever-increasing demand from their local customers who were genuinely concerned about the origin of their food and the conditions that live animals are sometimes kept in.
Although there has been a Franklins Farm since the 1940s, 'Franklins of Thorncote' first came into being as a free-range egg producer in 1987, supplying local shops and restaurants as well as doing a local egg delivery round (similar to a milk round) for the nearby villages. From these small beginnings, Franklins now have a successful farm shop and a thriving online business providing free range chicken, free range duck, free range lamb, free range beef and free range Gloucester Old Spot pork as well as many other delicious products.
Their grass-fed cattle (which is hung for at least 21 days to ensure tenderness and flavour), Gloucester Old Spot Pigs and Greensand Ridge Lambs are all slow grown and 100% traceable. Free range is a method of farming where the animals (for at least part of the day), can roam freely outdoors. This method provides the animal with the opportunity for extensive movement and sunlight that, in addition to helping to improve the quality and flavour of meat, also significantly contributes to the improved welfare of the animals.
Franklins are always eager to help with advice and support on cooking tips and recipes for all their meats and they have a raft of information on their web page detailing this information.
They are no strangers to success either! Their Farmhouse Sausage won the 'Best Sausage In Bedfordshire in 2013 and the Silver Award in The British Sausage Week in 2014.
They have also featured on Jamie & Jimmy's Friday Night Feast, Food Unwrapped and Countrywise.
